My husband is a retired Marine so we get to use the facilities at our local AFB -- pool, huge weight room, all the cardio you could ask for, spinning, pilates, etc. The catch for me is that I live 30 miles from town and the gym, so getting there everyday is tough -- I work at home. I do, however manage to workout 6 days a week, high intensity, doing something: biking, running, etc., things I can do at home if I don't make it to the gym. I have been known to take my kids with me to spinning class at 6am on a regular basis, that means we have to get up at 5 to make it on time.

Anyway, I totally agree with you that it is all about financial priorities. And for me, an investment in my fitness and health is an investment for my whole family. And I am willing to sacrifice to do that. For them and for me. Working out comes first for my health and my mind. I am just plain cranky if I don't work out. Plus I have the added benefit of modeling these kind of priorities for my kids. That to me is the ultimate goal. To teach them.

I could go on and on about this.

Anyway, I did your workout. All I can say is WAY TO GO! It was great. I am totally loading it on my husband's mp3 so he can try it too. Now I just have to figure out how to convert your other ones. You have a great talent for this, and I think you could really take it somewhere if you wanted to market it. I couldn't find anything else that I liked and I was searching for days.

BTW, if you heard someone yelling it was me yelling at you while you were going sprint, sprint, SPRINT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-)Gullebarnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15300831408497648303noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-240243626000907570.post-64264476701044636872008-01-16T21:33:00.000-05:002008-01-16T21:33:00.000-05:00Excellent post, Jamie! (too bad that doesn...Excellent post, Jamie! (too bad that doesn't work here).

In addition to the many tri blogs I follow, I follow many finance ones as well.

And spend most of my days shaking my head at the folks around me.

Like the guy at work that bought a $30K fishing boat a year ago and hasn't even passed the 20 hour break-in period on the engine. But his wife's working two jobs so they can make ends "meet".

And when I tell him that I'm retiring for good in nine years, his jaw drops (we're the same age).

But I still have my guilty pleasures. A Godiva chocolate before bed every night with my love and a good beer or bourbon. Life's too short to completely give up pleasure.Billhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17596205932932108573noreply@blogger.com
