I am also worried about dehydration, because after having twins I always, always pee my pants when I run. Really bad. Like into my socks bad if I am sprinting across the finish. So I am always afraid to drink too much lest I run with wet sox. No fun.

I have my first real tri on Saturday. The first one I am doing the whole thing. And it's supposed to snow.ellemenopehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09586834595488130625noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-240243626000907570.post-64642348918868520962008-05-07T20:06:00.000-04:002008-05-07T20:06:00.000-04:00Awesome race report. I feel your pain, but it sounds like you had a really good time either way!

I love those finishing pics. You have such determination in your face. Perfect!

I really want to do Wildflower some day. Maybe next year I'll see you there...Jamiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07927756501076501540noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-240243626000907570.post-19063362296822806712008-05-07T18:27:00.000-04:002008-05-07T18:27:00.000-04:00Excellent RR, Jamie. You can do it by shifting the front derailleur back and forth. Since the chain is hanging in the derailleur, you'll drag it back across the chainring. Once it's there, start slowly pedaling and it should catch the chain. A steady pressure and viola, the chain's back on the chainring and you're still flying along!

And you've got to drink. Any savings you may think you have by not drinking on the climbs, descents or flats will be lost if you break down due to dehydration. The best times would be while climbing, cresting a hill, or on the flats. You really won't impact your average speed too much.

Glad you're back home safe!Billhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17596205932932108573noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-240243626000907570.post-50446785991222828342008-05-07T15:28:00.000-04:002008-05-07T15:28:00.000-04:00I LOVE the running pick. I especially enjoyed the description of the low-speed chase on the run.

What a great race report! It sounds like it was so much fun! Don't be so hard on yourself, sometimes dehydration happens. However, have you tried hydration systems that don't involve taking your hands off the handlebars like an aero bottle system or (if you don't care what the cool kids think) a Camelbak?

By the way, if you happen to visit my page and it says my blog is deleted, it's not true. I've been flagged as spam. I'm waiting for blogger to get off their lazy asses to fix it now.Speed Racerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10906299857341904683noreply@blogger.com
